By day, I'm a normal, wholesome worker in the film and TV industry.

By night, I'm a bisexual, polyamorous pervert.

Aside from the occasional sip of wine, I don't smoke, drink or take recreational drugs. I'm the adult child of an alcoholic, and I try to base my life on the Twelve Steps.

I'm usually a lot of fun, but I know what it's like to get depressed and really down on yourself too. I use the Twelve Steps and other self-help programs, like the Human Awareness Institute, to try to grow as a person.

It can feel really scary and dangerous to risk opening yourself to other people and being vulnerable to them. It's so easy to get hurt and feel rejected.

When other people reject you, though, it's more often a reflection of them and how they perceive you, than it is of anything wrong with you. A lot of hurt and anger comes from miscommunication and assuming we know what other people are thinking, when we really don't.

Sometimes taking the risk to be emotionally vulnerable to other people can actually build you up. Sometimes revealing your weaknesses to friends can help you develop your strengths.

Sometimes it's better to have others disapprove of us the way we really are, than to have their false approval for acting the way they want us to be.
Being self aware doesn't mean I don't have a sense of humor though. In fact, I think having a sense of humor is essential to keeping any kind of sanity.
